Update for Kim

We survived last week!! The virus that has hit so many people hit our house last week. This was the first time that we experienced what it is like when both parents are sick at the same time. By the end of the week Caedan was also sick and not sleeping well which in turns means that his parents were not sleeping well.

By Saturday we had all recovered and so we headed out to our first Mariner Game of the season. This was also Caedan's first Mariner game. I think that he enjoyed the game but he wasn't so sure about all of the noise.

Olivia was happy to be reunited with her favorite Mariner player - the Moose!

And then on Monday morning Olivia woke up sick. I will spare you all of the details. We hope to all be healthy again by the weekend! So Kim here is your update. I do expect an update from you soon!

60 degrees and Skiing

On Sunday we headed up to Stevens pass for one last day of skiing. And what a great day it was. The sun was shinning and it was warm enough to ski with only one shirt on. Some brave souls even hit the slopes in shorts.

There were several activities throughout the day to celebrate the final day of the season. A fan favorite was the pond skimming.

Pond Skimming = skim across a man made "pond" at the foot of the mountain. If you make it across the pond you stay dry and if you do not make it across you fall in the pond.

It takes a very brave person to attempt this. There is actually ice floating in the pond.

Yes this girl is actually wearing a bikini. She also skied in her bikini earlier in the day.

Robert is now thinking that he would like to give this a try next season - the pond skimming that is and not the skiing in a bikini!!

The skiing season has come to an end and it is time to put away our skis until next season.

And here is a pictue of Caedan in the ski lodge just because he is cute!!

Oatmeal

Oatmeal - this was suppose to be Caedan's first food. There is a possibility that Caedan might have an allergy to some foods so they had us start with Oatmeal rather than the usual rice cereal. We tried for several days but we didn't have any luck. He would gag on each bite and then spit it all out. Then he would cry. Each attempt ended in the same way. Did he think that we were trying to poison him? The pediatrician told us to just keep trying. He needs to learn how to swallow the oatmeal and then he will like it. Does this look like someone who likes oatmeal? He is actually gagging in some of these pictures.

We were about to give up on solids all together but then we tried

Bananas!

Caedan loves Bananas. It turns out that he really just did not like oatmeal and who can blame him. It is not like his had fruit or brown sugar mixed in to make it actually taste good.

6 month checkup

On April 1st Caedan was 6 months old. Today he had his checkup with the doctor.

His official weight is 16 pounds 9.5 ounces putting him in the 40th percentile.
His official height is 27.5 inches putting him in the 75th percentile.

The appointment ended with the dreaded shots. By the end Caedan was screaming and I just kept telling him that it was the nurses fault because she gave him the shots. I was innocent this wasn't my fault. By the time that we made it to the car he calmed down and he was asleep after a few minutes.

The Perfect Day (When you are 4)

To plan a perfect day you must first find adults who are willing to buy you all of the ski equipment that you are going to need. Since you are still growing there will be lots of equipment and clothing that you will need. Luckily your lift tickets are only $6. They must also be willing to get up early and drive you to the ski slopes. After putting on several layers of clothing you are finally ready. A very important part to having a perfect day is being warm so you must wear several layers of clothes. 6 layers on top and 3 on the bottom are an absolute must. The layers also provide cushion for when you happen to fall. Once you are dressed you are ready to have a perfect day on the ski slopes. Now you just need to find someone who can keep up with you!

And how do you spend the perfect day when you are 5 months old and stuck in the ski lodge for the day while your big sister is skiing?
